Stirling Moss partnered by Peter Collins won the 1955 Targa Florio driving a Mercedes-Benz 300SLR. In an action filled race the pair were victorious giving the Stuttgart team sufficient points to win the World Sports Car Championship by a mere two points from Ferrari.
